Ghostly Walks - Halloween Tour

On our annual Halloween tour, we make sure to tell many of our favourite gruesome tales but we also include new and previously untold stories. Though we always start our Halloween Ghostly Walks from Market Square, the route is different every year. Whether you are new to ghost stories or have been on our tours before, our special Halloween route has something for everyone. Some of the highlights from previous years include: the ghost of the star-crossed Chinese lover, the ghost in the Broad Street bordello, a famous doppelgänger, the mysterious ghost in Trounce Alley, hauntings in Helmcken Alley and classic tales from Bastion Square, the story of the ghost of Belle Adams who slit her boyfriend’s throat, a Jack-the Ripper-style murder and more.
Horror Escape Victoria

Frankenstein

Actor Jason Stevens, is set to bring back Mary Shelley’s horror story in the Castle’s dance hall. Join us for a one-man version of Frankenstein set to haunt Craigdarroch Castle on Saturday nights this October. This event ticket does not include a tour of the Castle.
Pumpkinfest
Where: Galey Farms, 4150 Blenkinsop Road

All tickets include a train ride. Hop aboard and enjoy the 1.8km of track around the perimeter of our crop-producing fields and along Blenkinsop Creek. You will go past our pumpkin patch and thru our spooktacular displays decorated for Halloween. After your train ride you will enter our two-hectare corn maze which winds you thru our sphink, graveyard, pirates island, dino town, a ghost town and our family-friendly haunted house. You are then invited to our pumpkin patch, you can either take a leisurely stroll or you’re welcome to ride on one of our haywagons upon availability to get there.
We cannot accommodate walk-ins, all tickets must be purchased online.
Festival of Fear

Apple Fest

Creep, Crawl and Slither

Some kinds of arthropods have wings and antennae. The quantity and types of these body parts, and how they are arranged, tell you if an animal is an insect, spider, millipede, or centipede. There are reptiles that also can fly, but they don’t have wings. How many reptiles do you know from British Columbia? Join curator of vertebrate zoology Dr. Gavin Hanke, curator of entomology, Dr. Joel Gibson and learning program developer Chris O’Connor, as they lead you through this program about animals that creep, crawl, and slither. We will Investigate arthropod and reptile bodies and get creative by building a critter. Participants will need pencil and paper.
Metchosin Halloween Extravaganza

The Festival of the Dead opens with a screening of the 1925 silent film The Phantom of the Opera. Directed by Rupert Julian and starring Lon Chaney, the film is an early classic of the horror genre. The internationally acclaimed organ virtuoso David Briggs, currently the Artist in Residence for New York City’s Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, will provide a live, improvised accompaniment on Christ Church Cathedral’s magnificent Wolff organ. A performance not to be missed!
Halloween on the Farm

Join us at Cinecenta for a special Halloween screening of two silent films: Buster Keaton's satirically spooky short The Haunted House (1921) and a beautiful HD colour- tinted restoration of Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror (1922). Featuring live piano accompaniment from musician and University of Victoria Music professor Bruce Vogt. This new colour restoration of Nosferatu, accompanied by an eclectic and dynamic interpretive soundtrack, will allow you to experience this 100 year-old horror masterpiece like never before!

One of the OCS’s most popular annual tours is based on ghost stories linked to people buried at RBC. On some of the graves the occupants might even seem to come to life and tell their tales. Extra guides will be on hand for large numbers.

It is Halloween night and a murder has happened!! Can you solve the mystery!? Find Clues, Solve the connections, and Catch the Murderer! 19+ Event. Each ticket will be a character within the murder mystery. Each character will need their own contact info so we can keep information secret. 24hrs before the event you will be e-mailed more in-depth knowledge of who you know, why you are at the event, and more about your character.
